November Newsletter

Dear Folks, Can you believe that it is almost Thanksgiving? We haven’t even adjusted to the fact that it is November, let alone Thanksgiving. Today it is in the sixties here and the ground is covered with golden maple leaves.

Louie, one of my young cats, feels it is his duty to chase every leaf that falls. By the end of the day he is content to curl up in the house and nap. We should all be as lucky as Louie.

It isn’t really luck is it? He can’t really be smarter than we are, can he?? We don’t allow ourselves to relax or rest. Let’s take a lesson from “Lucky Louie.” This time of the year is packed with family celebrations, work and more expense.

Sometimes I will walk in a room and see something on television that I would like to enjoy. Do I sit down and watch? No. I stand there and watch. I am allowed to relax and curl up. So are you! What has worked for me is to pick a time to quit. For me it is eight o’clock in the evening. I gather a book, the TV remote, the telephone, tablet & pen, a cup of tea, coffee or wine and plant myself by the fireplace (with or without the fire). What more could I want or need? The tablet is to list anything that needs done….tomorrow.

I love this time and I hope you will find a quitting time and a place to behave like “Lucky Louie.” Before long Louie and his brother Lewis join me. They start purring. How nice—is it me or the cup of catnip tea?
Meow, Annie P.S. The best herbs to help you relax are valerian, catnip, hops, chamomile, passion flower, skullcap, lavender and any herb with calcium.
You can make a tea from any of these herbs. Valerian is best in capsule form because it really stinks. All the others can be use individually or in combination. Try an herbal bath with these.
Very relaxing.
If you have any questions about how to use these or anything else,
please call.
